Autodiscovery HEAD360

360-Degree Situational Awareness & Autonomous Navigation Payload

The HEAD360 (Holistic Equipment for Autonomous Driving) Version 3 is a state-of-the-art, fully integrated situational awareness and autonomous navigation payload designed for advanced mobile robots and humanoids. Offering 360-degree high-density point clouds and multi-camera edge computing, Version 3 brings significant upgrades in processing power, communication bandwidth, and detection accuracy. It combines multiple high-performance modules into a single plug-and-play IP65 ruggedized enclosure.

THE NAVIGATION CHALLENGES

LiDAR and Camera Blind Spots: Single-sided mapping sensors leave significant areas of the environment unmonitored, leading to collision risks during reverse or lateral movements.
Degraded/Zero-Lux Operation: Standard optical cameras fail under zero-lux night conditions or high glare, rendering visual mapping and localization unreliable.
Onboard Processing Bottlenecks: Fusing high-density point clouds and running multi-camera AI object detection strains standard robot CPUs, leading to latency.
Wireless Telemetry Drops: Transmitting heavy point clouds and raw video streams over long-range networks causes dropouts and latency in telemetry.

THE HEAD360 INTEGRATED SOLUTION

360-Degree Point Clouds: Integrates a high-density omnidirectional 3D LiDAR with three wide-FOV 4D depth cameras for complete spherical situational awareness.
Integrated Night Illumination: High-power LED flood lights automatically illuminate zero-lux environments, enabling continuous all-weather mapping and surveillance.
Distributed AI Processing: Features dedicated Neural Processing Units (NPUs) built into each camera for edge execution, preserving the central core compute tier.
Zenoh DDS and Wi-Fi 7: Built-in Wi-Fi 7 routing combined with Zenoh DDS middleware minimizes network overhead, keeping control loops stable over unstable networks.
EVALUATION READY & PLUG-AND-PLAY The HEAD360 is built entirely on the ROS 2 Jazzy ecosystem and preconfigured with Nav2. It features direct electrical and mechanical compatibility with various mobile robot bases (wheeled, tracked, and legged) for fast evaluation and deployment.
